have a jolly

It is a wonderful time of year! The snow has come and the ground looks like a sparkling white blanket making Vermont look like the picture on the cover of the Irvin Berlin’s movie, White Christmas. Hooking Holly Jolly all fall was so much fun it put me in the holiday spirt early. I am full of good cheer and ready for a long winter with lots of snow and good hooking. I hope you have a lot of fun winter projects to hook on those cold snowy days.

My best wishes for a Holly Jolly New Year….lucille

Description

Color, Texture & Design for Primitive Rugs

These classes are for those who love primitive rugs; focusing on the use of textures, wide cut and color appropriate for the pattern design. Here, we will explore how the key to mixing many textured fabrics is balance. Hooking wool in the deep rich colors of Early America creates a rug that becomes an “instant antique.” Moreover, I believe a pattern should be fun to hook and also contain elements of challenge. We will talk about how “America the Beautiful” holds an endless source of inspiration; old houses, baskets, holidays, boats, flowers, animals, flags, etc., then show you how to use those inspirations, plus a little imagination, to create original rugs that reflect who you are, where you’ve been, and where you want to go.
