American Country Rugs Workshops
Hello and Welcome to Lollipop farm

Studio East Rupert, VT

In Memory of Susan Sontag , hooked in 2014

Greetings and Happy New Year! Hope your Holidays were merry and bright. This year we didn’t have to dream of a White Christmas. Vermont was as I love it covered with a blanket of white. There is a new hooker in the family. My granddaughter Emma at four and a half years old pulled 16 consecutive loops. She tells me “I am a good looper” oh the joy of being a “Grammie.!” New this year: By request, a two day weekend Getaway workshop is available for those who would like a quick trip to the beautiful country side of Vermont.
I hope you will join us this year for the Open House and / or the Hook In. They are fun days filled with good cheer and a lot of hooking. All the best, Lucille

In 2017 american country rugs celebrates its 15 year in business.
Thank you for your business but most of all your friendship.

The Fourth Annual Open House at Lollipop Farm and Hook In at the Manchester
Country Club are back by popular demand..... RSVP flyer enclosed.

Open house: Thursday April 20, 2017

Primitive Rug Hooking Workshops

Lucille Festa’s Workshop Schedule

Summer- July - Tuesday 18, Wednesday 19, Thursday 20.........Cost $298.00

*New* August - Saturday 12, & Sunday 13..................................... Cost $198.00

Color, Texture & Design for Primitive Rugs

These classes are for those who love primitive rugs; focusing on the use of textures, wide cut and color appropriate for the pattern design. Here, we will explore how the key to mixing many textured fabrics is balance. Hooking wool in the deep rich colors of Early America creates a rug that becomes an “instant antique.” Moreover, I believe a pattern should be fun to hook and also contain elements of challenge. We will talk about how “America the Beautiful” holds an endless source of inspiration; old houses, baskets, holidays, boats, flowers, animals, flags, etc., then show you how to use those inspirations, plus a little imagination, to create original rugs that reflect who you are, where you’ve been, and where you want to go.
